The Nakamura-Tome Model STW-40 turning center is a multi-function machine with two conventional lower turrets and a W-axis milling turret accessing the twin-spindle lathe from above. The MULTI - CENTER-9 is a 9-axis CNC turning and milling machining center with two opposing spindles

Both spindles are equipped with a full C-axis for positioning and contour milling.

The left headstock is fixed, the right spindle moves to take over workpieces from the left side and support long shaft parts synchronously.
A tool spindle on the upper side of the bed and a 12-position turret on the lower side of the bed are the two tool carriers that are simultaneously engaged in the cutting process.
The tool spindle with 15 KW drive power is integrated in a flat-guided Y/B-axis construction in order to carry out off-center, angle-shifted machining to a previously unknown extent.
The B swivel axis has Hirt gearing with 5 tons of clamping force, which indexes automatically every 7.5 degrees. A disc brake takes over the clamping work between this fixed division.
