The VISION WIDE VB-2016 5-AXIS gantry milling center , built in 2013 in Taiwan, is designed for precise machining of heavy details in three or even five axes , after mounting an automatic swivel head to the vertical spindle. Made of the highest quality cast iron construction of the machine, it is characterized by high rigidity and resistance to bending stresses and perfectly suppresses vibrations caused during machining.
Smooth movement and very high rigidity are ensured by sliding guides covered with Turcite B material, by means of which shifts in the X, Y, Z axes are carried out. The axes are additionally equipped with HEIDENHAIN scales to ensure accurate determination of the position of the X,Y,Z axes in changing conditions.
Efficient machining is guaranteed by an extremely reliable spindle with a maximum power of 30 kW and a rotational speed of 10,000 rpm, moving along the crossbeam. The headstock is placed between two hydraulic cylinders, which are connected to an accumulator with compressed air, designed to relieve the Z-axis travel motor. Vertical travel is carried out by means of two sliding guides located symmetrically on both sides of the spindle.
To extend the life of the ball screws and bearings, the VISION WIDE 2000 x 1600 CNC gantry milling machineis equipped with a special cooling system that eliminates the effect of expansion due to temperature increase, ensuring temperature stabilization and the possibility of long-term operation under heavy load. The milling center also has an external liquid cooling system with manually adjustable coolant nozzles.
The gantry CNC milling center has guards mounted around the entire machine with sliding doors, which, thanks to opening flush with the X-axis, significantly facilitate the loading of details from the side. The 2,000 mm long and 1,300 mm wide work table, supported along the entire length of the longitudinal travel, is guided by two sliding guides, enabling the processing of heavy workpieces even when the table is loaded unevenly.
The gantry machining center is also equipped with two screw chip conveyors placed on both sides of the work table and one transverse crawler chip conveyor with a discharge tip at the end of the screw conveyors. To control the operation of the milling machine, a modern HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530 CNC control is used, located on the boom on the side of the machine.
The extensive equipment of the machining center also includes e.g. rotary table with a diameter of 800 mm, 32-position magazine for tool change in the vertical position of the spindle, RENISHAW RMP-60 detail probe and RENISHAW TS 27R tool touch probe. The two-column machining center weighs 25,000 kg. The machine was processing small parts for a small number of hours.
